About Me and Nomadic Guiding

It's a long story about an American coming to live in Norway. But to get a sense of how it came to be I will tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up outside of St. Louis MO on a small mid-western farm. As a child most of my time was spent in the forest running wild. When I got old enough to roam, I left St. Louis to pursue my dream of working in the outdoors.

I headed to the mountain of Montana to get my start, learning the basics as a professional big game hunting guide and outfitter. I learned how to live in the mountains and travel by horseback for weeks and months at a time. After I finished up my training, I was given a chance to ride in Wyoming and that opened the door for me.

After my start in Wyoming, I began building a name and reputation for myself as an excellent guide with those I worked for and the clients I took out. This reputation allowed me to further my dream of guiding, I was able to guide white water, dogsledding, wilderness horseback trips, fishing and hunting. After 10 years of living out of my truck and traveling around the USA guiding, a change happened.....Norway!

Since I came to Norway 10 years ago, it has taken me a long time with plenty of trial and error. But I have finally gotten to a point where I can continue with my dream of guiding and sharing in the fun of the outdoors with clients. I have started Nomadic Guiding and Teambuilding to offer people a chance to experience fun and educational outdoor experiences, with a professional wilderness guide. I enjoy spending time with all my clients in the outdoors and know the difference it will make in your trip.
